Free Printable Preschool Christmas Hats - Santa Hat headbands shown (one colored by a child and one in full color)

There’s two versions of the free Santa hat template. One is a full-color Santa hat pdf, for a super fast print, cut and assemble craft. The other fun Christmas hat for kids is a black and white version that is perfect for classroom use. Kids can color their own Santa hat and then cut it out and put it together.

I love easy preschool crafts and this one fits the bill. It’s low mess, simple, and low prep! This Santa hat headband also allows little ones a chance to practice their scissor skills, which is always a bonus.

How to Make a Santa Hat Headband Preschool Christmas hats

First, print out a copy of the Santa Hat template printable. I like to print on cardstock to make it more sturdy, but regular paper will work as well.

Next, supply your child with crayons or colored pencils to color the Santa hat. (If you are making the full-color version, you can skip this step!)

It’s time to cut! Have your child cut the Santa hat out along with the strips of paper for the headband. My 4 year old was able to cut this hat by herself, but if your child is younger, they may need some assistance.

After all of the pieces of the Christmas craft hat have been cut out, use a stapler to attach the strips of paper to the Santa hat template. Adjust the headband to fit your child and snip off the extra paper.

Now, your Santa hat is ready and your child is sure to be bursting with holly jolly joy! I hope they enjoy making this wearable Santa hat craft!
