I made this printable frog puppet super easy to cut out, making it perfect for preschool and kindergarten age children. It’s a fun way to work on scissor skills and those fine motor skills.
And of course, puppets are a great way to engage children in imaginative play!

Supplies for a Frog Paper Bag Puppet
For this easy craft, you just need a few simple materials.

You will need:
– The Free Frog Printable Template
– White paper bags – lunch bag size
– Crayons (or markers)
– Glue Stick or School Glue (Glue stick is preferable).
– Scissors – We love the blunt tip Fiskars scissors for kids
Optional: Green Construction paper if you want to add hands and legs.
Once you have your craft supplies, you’re ready to begin!
How to make a Frog Puppet
First print out the frog template on white paper. Have your child color the frog’s face.
We colored the frog a classic green and added a bit of red for the frog’s mouth. We left the eyes plain.
Once your child has finished coloring, it’s time to cut!
Older preschoolers shouldn’t have any trouble cutting it out by themselves, but smaller kids may need a little help.
We like to use child safe blunt tip scissors to practice cutting skills.
How to make the Printable Frog Puppet
After you have all 3 pieces cut out, it’s time to put together the frog paper bag puppet!
Place your white paper bag on the table so that the flat bottom of the bag is on top. Using a little bit of glue, place the face onto the paper bag.
Next, have your child place the eyes where they belong on the face and then have them glue them down as well!
I prefer to use glue sticks for puppet crafts because they dry quickly. My kids always love to be able to play with their fun paper bag puppets right away!
You can alternatively use school glue, but keep in mind that liquid white glue will take longer to dry.
Once everything is glued down, the kids might like to color the puppet frog craft body green.
Now the frog puppet is finished!
Older kids might like to add construction paper hands and legs. We kept ours super simple.
Kids can place their hand inside their frog puppets to put on a puppet show.
They might like to sing Five Little Speckled Frogs.
