How to make a Bunny Puppet

First, print out the free printable bunny puppet template onto white paper.

Provide your child with crayons to color the bunny template printable.

We wanted to make an Easter Bunny paper bag puppet so we left the big circle face white and colored the bunny’s nose pink.  Then we colored the inner ear pink and left the outer ears white.

Of course, kids can choose a different color for their bunny!

Once your child has finished coloring, it’s time to cut! With child safe scissors, have your child cut out the big circle face, the small oval nose, the 2 eyes, and the 2 bunny ears.

I created this bunny template printable with little ones in mind, so the pieces to cut are large and spaced far apart for cutting ease.

Most kindergarteners and older preschoolers will likely have no trouble with this, but smaller kids may need some help with the cutting.

How to make the Printable Bunny Puppet

Once your child has colored and cut out the pieces, it’s time to assemble the paper bag bunny craft!

Flip your paper bag so that the bottom of the bag is at the top.  Lay the large circle on top.  This is the bunny’s face.

Next, have your child lay out the pieces of the bunny puppet template before you start to glue. This process will help kids figure out where things go on the face.

On top of the large circle, we added the nose at the top of the mouth.   Then we centered the eyes above that.  Finally the bunny’s ear’s will be behind the head.

Once your child has place everything where it looks good, it’s time to glue.

I like to use a glue stick for puppet crafts because it is low-mess and dries quickly.  This is ideal so that kids can play with their puppets right away!

Of course, school glue will work too, but keep in mind that it will take longer to dry.

After your child finishes gluing the pieces on, the bunny rabbit puppet is finished! Kids can place their hand inside the bag to make the puppet move and create a puppet show!
