  • Free Ghost printable printed on card stock – you can use white paper, but I recommend the extra durability of the cardstock.
  • Kid scissors (I recommend these Blunt tip Fiskars scissors for younger kids).
  • Stapler
  • Yarn and tape if you wish to hang it up.

Let’s get started on these easy Halloween crafts!

How to make a Cute Ghost Craft

First, for these cute ghosts, you need to print the free printable ghost template out on a white sheet of paper.

I recommend using cardstock to make this fun craft more durable!

Provide your kids with kid-safe scissors.  I prefer the blunt tip scissors by Fiskar.

Show the kids how to cut on the lines and then to stop when the line stops.

I help my kids understand this by saying:

Cut, cut, cut, STOP!

Cut, cut, cut, STOP!

Once they have cut all of the lines, it’s time to curl bottom of the ghost.

ghost craft tutorial - curling bottom of ghost, stapling it together

My kids wrapped the strips around their fingers to make them a little bit curly.  Alternatively, you could use a pencil to curl it.

Next, use a stapler to form the ghost.

We are going to curve the paper around so that the 2 strips on the end come together to form one strip. Then staple the edges together to make the ghost shape.

You can see that I stapled it at the top and toward the bottom of the body of the ghost.

Now you have a simple ghost craft!

My kids had so much fun making their own little ghosts!  This art project is a fun idea for a Halloween party or for classroom Halloween decorations.

If you like, you can turn your ghost into a windsock, by simply taping yarn to the top of the ghost on each side to create a handle for it to hang.

These would be so cute hung up from the ceiling in a classroom or kids might enjoy taking their ghost on an adventure outdoors to let it fly in the wind.

What an easy craft for kids!

I hope you enjoy making these simple paper ghosts.

These preschool ghost crafts are a fun activity that promotes scissor skills and fine motor practice for young children.
