Looking for a fun Fall Craft for Preschoolers? This Easy Paper Plate Pumpkin Craft is the perfect way to say hello to autumn!
It’s hard to believe that fall is just around the corner. With that in mind, I decided to add another pumpkin craft to our plan for the week.
I always wondered what would happen if you tried to paint with a pumpkin. We found that the texture turns out so cool with this technique!
Painting with pumpkins is a fun way for kids to practice their fine motor skills and use their creativity! It also works well for a process art idea for little ones.
This cute paper plate pumpkin craft is great for classrooms, daycares, homeschooling, and more!
Alright! Let’s get started on this adorable paper plate pumpkin craft.
Supplies for Paper Plate Pumpkin Craft
For this simple craft, you will need the following simple craft supplies:
- Paper Plates
- Orange Washable Paint
- Mini Pumpkins
- Brown & Green Construction Paper
- Scissors
- Glue stick or School Glue
Once you have your basic supplies, it’s time to start on your preschool pumpkin craft!
How to Make an Easy Pumpkin Craft
First, you might like to cover your table with a plastic tablecloth to protect it from paint. Next, add some orange paint to a paper plate or bowl.
Provide your child with a mini pumpkin and a paper plate to decorate.
Show your child how to dip the pumpkin into the paint and then stamp it onto their plate.
I love how the pumpkin leaves a cool pattern on the plate. What fun! Kids can continue to stamp their paper plate with orange paint until it is completely orange.
Let the orange paper plate pumpkin dry. This will take at least an hour or two.
Once it is completely dry, kids can add a brown construction paper stem and some green paper vines or leaves if they wish!
To make a pumpkin vine, we cut a long strip of green construction paper. We curled the long strip of green paper around a pencil to give it a curly vine look. Too Cute!
Then we used school glue to attach the stem and vine to the back of the paper plate pumpkin.
And….it’s finished! So easy and adorable!
I hope your kids enjoy this easy pumpkin craft as much as mine did!
These would be so cute displayed on Fall Pumpkin Patch bulletin boards.
If you wish, you could add a Jack-o-Lantern Face to transform your pumpkin paper plate crafts into Halloween decorations.
Or, you can leave them plain and they can transition easily into your Thanksgiving decor!
