This free Bible Coloring Page is perfect for Sunday School lessons, kids church, after-school care, Bible classes, or homeschooling. I also have linked at the end of this article a fun Adam & Eve themed activity pack that works well for multiple ages and lessons.

As a former preschool and elementary teacher, and a regular Sunday School teacher, I know that it’s important to have lots of different ways to engage kids in learning at Bible class.

I’ve included a short kid-friendly synopsis from the biblical account in the book of Genesis 3 in the Old Testament.

Of course, you’ll want to go ahead and read Genesis chapters 2 & 3 as they are short chapters, and provide a lot of context for this Bible story.

If you don’t need the story synopsis, you can scroll on down to the printable Adam & Eve coloring page near the bottom if you like.

Alright, let’s get started!

Story of Adam and Eve

Adam and Eve lived in the Garden of Eden. God took care of all of their needs.

They could eat anything in the garden except God told them not to eat from the tree in the center of the garden – the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

One day, the tricky serpent said to Eve, “Did God really say, you must not eat from any tree in the garden?”

Eve answered the serpent, “We may eat fruit from the trees, but we cannot eat from the tree that is in the middle of the garden and we must not touch it or we will die.”

“You will not die,” said the serpent. “God knows that when you eat it your eyes will be opened and you will be like Him knowing good and evil.”

When Eve saw that the fruit from the tree looked delicious and would make her wise, she took some and ate it.

She also took some and gave it to her husband Adam, who was with her and he ate it.

Then, their eyes were opened and they realized they were naked. They sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves.

Then they heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day. They hid from him among the trees of the garden.

The Lord God called out “Where are you?”

Adam answered, “I heard you in the garden and I was afraid because I was naked, so I hid.”

God asked, “Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree that I commanded you not to eat from?”

Adam said, “The woman you put here with me – she gave me some fruit from the tree and I ate it.”

The Lord God said to Eve “What is this that you have done?”

Eve said that the serpent tricked her and she ate the fruit.

The Lord God punished the serpent for tricking them and He also punished Adam and Eve for disobeying.

God makes Adam and Eve clothing and sends them away. They are no longer allowed to live in the Garden of Eden.

God does not trust Adam and Eve to stay away from the Tree of Life, which would allow them to live forever.

They will have to work hard to grow their own food. God places an angel to stand guard at the Garden and a flaming sword to guard the way to the Tree of Life.
