Supplies to make Mother’s Day Card from Kids
You will need the following simple craft supplies to make this Mother’s Day Card:
- Free Mother’s Day Card to Color printable pdf file (found at the end of this tutorial)
- Colored Pencils (or crayons)
- Scissors (we love these child-safe scissors by Fiskar which are perfect for little kids)
- Glue Stick
- Optional: Picture of child
How to Make Mother’s Day Card for kids to Color
First, print out the Free Mother’s Day Card to Color printable. You can find it at the end of this tutorial.
There are 3 free printable pages.
You may like to print page 1 and then reinsert the page back into your printer to print page 2 on the backside.
I found that it was simple enough to fold both pages together.
Provide your children with colored pencils or crayons. Have them color the bubble letters on the front of the card that say “Happy Mother’s Day!”
Next, show your child with the page with the boxes of pictures and have them choose 3 for the front of the card.
We choose to color the butterfly, ice cream cone, and flowers.
Have them color the items they want to add to the card and then carefully cut out the 3 boxes with scissors.
Pro tip: If they are making cards for both mom and grandma, you can use the same page of items and have them choose 3 for each card.
Now it’s time to add the 3 items to the front of the card. We used a glue stick for this.
Next on the inside of the card, add a picture of the child inside the heart.
We chose to use a real photograph to make an extra cute card, but you might like to have the child can draw themselves inside of the heart instead.
Kids can color the words inside the card as well.
And….it’s finished!
This is the perfect Mother’s day card for Sunday School classrooms, school classrooms, homeschooling and more because with a glue stick craft, there’s no dry time!
