Get ready for Valentine’s Day with these Cute Valentine Box Ideas for Kids to Make!
Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, can you believe it?! Each year, my kids are asked to bring in a Valentine box to collect valentine cards at their class party. Such a fun tradition and it’s so cool to see what each child bring in!
Today I wanted to share some fun DIY Valentine’s Day Card Boxes.

I am sharing pictures of past Valentine boxes my own kids have made in addition to some great ideas from my fellow bloggers.
Some of these creative ideas have a link to the tutorial while others are simply a pic with a brief explanation. I hope you enjoy these unique Valentine’s Day Box ideas!
1) Unicorn Valentine Box
This first idea is a Unicorn Valentine Box. My daughter and I worked together to create this cute idea. We covered a cereal box in white paper.
We left the top of the box open to insert valentines.
Then we used this Unicorn Puppet template to add the face and horn to the front of the box.
Last, we cut construction paper fringe to act as the unicorn’s mane. This unicorn box is simple, cute, and so much fun for little girls!
2) Rocket Valentine Box
My son and I created this Rocket Valentine Box from a tissue box. We wrapped the box in white paper and cut an opening for the valentines to be inserted.
I used a hot glue gun to add the mini plastic cups to the bottom and we also hot glued some red, orange, and yellow tulle to be the rocket’s flames.
The top is simply a construction paper cone. My son was delighted with the end result and so proud of his creation!
3) Candy Valentine Box
This Peppermint Candy Valentine Box was a super simple last minute idea for one of my daughters. First she colored a paper plate to look like a peppermint candy.
I wrapped the plate with cello wrap and tied the ends with ribbon. Then we cut down a cereal box to the size of our plate and wrapped with construction paper.
And finally, we used packing tape to attach the peppermint candy.
4) Cat Valentine Box
My daughter and I made this Cat Valentine Box when she was in first grade. First, we cut a hole in a large cereal box to be the cat’s mouth.
Then we wrapped the box in orange construction paper and cut the mouth out. We added googly eyes and construction paper ears, nose, and tail. The whiskers are made from uncooked spaghetti noodles.
She wanted to add a bit more flair so we added ribbon, tulle and foam stickers to create a skirt for her cat. Too cute!
5) Tractor Valentine Box
My husband helped my son create this fun Tractor Valentine Box. They wrapped 2 boxes in green construction paper and attached them with packing tape.
He poked a hole in the front to add the exhaust pipe which is just black construction paper rolled up. Then they added construction paper wheels, a grill and lights. What fun!
6) Bulldozer Valentine Box
This Bulldozer Valentine Box was also made by my son and husband. They used cardboard from our recycling bin to create the treads and scoop.
Then they simply attached it to a box covered in yellow construction paper. Love it!
7) Bunny Valentine Box
This Bunny Valentine Box was another super last minute idea for my little one!
We wrapped her box with pink wrapping paper. Then she colored some bunny coloring pages.
We cut out the bunnies along with some paper hearts and glued them to the box with a glue stick. Simple and cute! Got to love those easy projects!
